Tropical Storm Ivo continues to gather strength as it move NW some 530 miles south of Cabo San Lucas. The current estimated position is15.3N 111.1W and movement is 300° at 11kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 994Mb and winds are 55kts with gusts to 65kts. Tropical storm Ivo is gathering strength faster than originally forecast and is now expected to become a hurricane later today. The 9AM today forecast now anticipates that Ivo may curve so much by Monday as to miss Cabo San Lucas to the south as a Tropical Storm. Tropical Storm Ivo is forecast to turn to the north by Friday then move northeast toward Baja Sur. Ivo will continue to be over very warm waters through Thursday and strengthening beyond the anticipated force for that period is possible. However, should Ivo continue on its projected course, it would have to pass over marginally warm waters and it is unlikely that strengthening would continue along that path.
