Jennifer Aniston’s Mexican vacation was made extra special by One & Only Palmilla resort staff in Cabo San Lucas and the local military – they teamed up to prevent the prowling paparazzi from ruining her birthday break. The actress jetted off to Mexico with friends and reported new man Gerard Butler to celebrate her 41st birthday, and she’s thrilled with the efforts locals made to keep her holiday a peaceful and private trip. In an agreed TV interview with reporter Billy Bush, the actress pointed out the paparazzi boats out at sea, full of snappers who tried to get saucy shots of the star. But resort staff, police and the local coast guard went beyond the call of duty to make sure the trip was a relaxing one.
She explains, “Our gang … has been holding up these mirrors … to sort of disrupt their photographs … I think any guest who comes here would hope to have a little privacy. I think it’s very nice.” During the beach chat with the “Access Hollywood” presenter, Aniston revealed locals on jet-skis had been splashing the sea-faring paparazzi and the local military patrolled the area, blocking snappers from getting too many clear shots of the actress and her birthday party, which included Courteney Cox and Sheryl Crow.

East of San José del Cabo, Puerto Los Cabos is a 2,000-acre resort community with more than 3 miles of beachfront. It’s located just minutes from the historic district of San José del Cabo, 10 minutes from San José del Cabo International Airport and 40 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. Developed by Grupo Questro, one of Mexico’s leading real estate developers, Puerto Los Cabos is the group’s most ambitious project with US$200 million invested in basic infrastructure and $1 billion invested in hotels, condominiums, commercial zones and more. Six luxurious resorts are planned within the development. They will offer the highest levels of service and amenities, as well as close to 1,500 rooms.
Puerto Los Cabos offers real estate opportunities for those with a desire to own a “perfect piece of the world.” Custom home sites in the private gated communities include 228 lots at Fundadores, 50 at La Noria and 79 at El Altillo, featuring golf course, beachfront and ocean view locations.
The Marina at Puerto Los Cabos set the standard for yachting centers on the West Coast of North America. This largest privately constructed breakwater in Mexico will be a secure environment for 430 vessels — ranging from the pangas of the local fishermen to mega yachts of up to 250 feet.

Tourists and residents in Cabo San Lucas are enjoying sunny skies and breathing a sigh of relief now that Tropical Storm Rick has passed the Baja California peninsula. The storm did not cause widespread flooding or destruction in the Cabo San Lucas area but large surf generated by the storm was responsible for the death of a 16-year-old boy and for eroding portions of Medano Beach.
The port remains closed but will reopen Thursday, which will mark the beginning of the Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, which will run through Saturday. The event is the world’s richest billfish tournament, anglers will compete for $3 million in prize money.

Hurricane Jimena, a dangerous Category 4 storm off Mexico’s Pacific Coast, was on track to buffet resorts on the Baja California peninsula on Tuesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
Jimena, a small but powerful hurricane that has intensified quickly since it formed early on Saturday, was packing 145 mph winds with higher gusts, and the Mexican government issued a hurricane watch for southern Baja California. A hurricane watch means hurricane conditions are possible with 36 hours.
According to the five-step Saffir-Simpson intensity scale, Category 4 hurricanes are “extremely dangerous” and can cause devastating damage if they hit land. The hurricane center said people located in central Baja California peninsula and western mainland Mexico should also monitor the storm’s progress because more watches could be issued on Monday. Jimena is still a safe distance from shore but set to gather steam and brush the upscale resort of Los Cabos on Tuesday, when the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is scheduled to hold a meeting there to discuss tax havens.

A hurricane watch is in effect for Baja California. A Hurricane Watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 36 hours.

How about trading the posh Cabo San Lucas and Los cabos for some serious dust? Doesn’t sound that good – does it?? It sure does not go with the famous Cabo lifestyle if you read the opening but let me tell you one thing – you are gonna like it!! Does being a modern day cowboy on 50+hp motorcycles “flying” through the Baja Sur landscape raise your interest?? Well, if it does – How about a bunch of desert racing Trophy Trucks, 700 horsepower monsters, moving off road across the Baja Sur desert at speeds you can’t imagine? Still not enough for you CSL visiting speed-freaks?? Let’s bring you to the edge of your seat and throw in some Class 1 unlimited buggies with about 500 horsepower to give you an overview of the event. There are many hard fought for classes in the upcoming Coyote 300 desert race being held this weekend in La Paz. There are over 100 entries in this 15 th edition of the race. A race liked by the locals racers as much by racers coming from up north. They will all compete in this challenging course around the Southern Baja – starting in La Paz Centenario and ending at the finish line at the Tecolote Beach famous for its divine views of the Isla Espiritu Santo. Coming out of La Paz the off-road racers will pass Todos Sandos via Los Inocentes on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula before turning inland and heading over to Los Planes at the Sea of Cortez going north to the finish line at Tecolote.

There is more to it then just the Coyote 300 race, the evening before the race is a huge fiesta at the Malecon in La Paz where you could see the vehicles and racers up close. So get a car and take the 2 hours trip to the city at the bay – La Paz!! It will be worthwhile! And if you are out there and wondering where those desert trophy truck guys are- just follow the dust because that’s pretty much what you’ll see but the thrill of being present makes it all 100% worth it!!

Additions by the editor: if you know your way around ,or have a local drive you, you can basically watch the the top classes pass 3 times if you move along across the Baja Sur!! And you will forget the dust at the huge fiesta taking place after the race at Tecolote beach – enjoy a few cold brews , chips and salsa, and views of the annual bikini contest!!

Visit the Coyote 300 website here or check in at Puro Off Road on race day for the live race web cast (connection permitting). Puro Offroad does twit also here…

Imagine white-sand beaches swept by a tropical breeze, a place where the sun shines 350 days a year, where rugged mountains and deserts greet some of the fish-richest azure waters of the world. Los Cabos, the magnificent area at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula, is where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. Long regarded as a fisherman’s village, Los Cabos is now one of the most important destinations offered by the dynamic Mexican tourism industry. Welcome to the Cabo San Lucas Infotheque, After 4 successful years providing unbiased Cabo San Lucas information you are looking at the improved “second edition” of Cabo’s Online Infotheque. Resting at the tip of the Baja Peninsula is the sparkling city of Cabo San Lucas. Once used as a frequent provision stop for pirates awaiting passage of the Manila Galleons, today Los Cabos is headed for resort stardom. In the last fifteen years, it has evolved from a sleepy hideaway for recluse fishermen and yacht owners into one of Mexico’s most popular resort destinations. This is due largely to improved roads and air access, plus heavy investment by FONATUR (the government’s agency in charge of new resort development) and the private sector.
Bahia de Cabo San Lucas Without any question, “the” beach at San Lucas is El Medano, everyone’s favorite gathering spot. With it’s crystal-clear water and gentle surf, this is a gret place to swim, sail, water-ski, kayak or simply lap up the sun and enjoy the scenery as you treat yourself to fresh seafood and your favorite drink.
